Oral Cancer Screening

At Summit Dental Arts, oral cancer screening is a routine part of our dental examination.  The American Dental Association estimates over 30,000 new cases of oral cancer this year alone.  Regular hygiene visits, including a visual examination of your entire mouth and tongue, are essential in the early detection of cancerous and precancerous conditions. 

We also utilize a screening tool, VELscope.  This blue light illuminates healthy and abnormal tissues in the oral cavity differently, allowing us to see small tissue changes.
